This weekend intensive is designed for expectant parents who are curious how practicing mindfulness can impact their capacity during labor, birth, parenting, and beyond. It is also open to health-care professionals who want to learn more about Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP).
Co-taught by mindfulness practitioners, including a nurse midwife who has attended more than 1,000 births, you learn how to:
- Practice mindfulness for working with pain and fear during labor
- Understand the mind/body connection in childbirth
- Be fully present to give comfort and support as a birth partner/support person
- Bring mindfulness to the contractions of labor, and the "contractions" of life, and the space in between contractions
First-time parents or those with previous birth experience will return home with materials and practices to continue at home after the course, which is rooted in evidence-based research.
