An Interview With Barbara Tannenbaum
Omega: What advice do you have for people who are nervous about public speaking? Barbara: Fear of public speaking is the number one fear that people, both men and women, in the U.S have. It's higher on the list than fear of death. So, realize this fear is universal. It's not like there's something wrong with you. More

An Interview With Kathryn Thomas
Omega: How did you come to find yoga and yoga service? Kathryn: I was a naval helicopter pilot and I fell while I was on deployment. Going through the medical separation process [leaving the military for medical reasons] was pretty tumultuous. My physical therapist recommended I incorporate yoga into my physical therapy because I lost all the feeling in my leg due to the injury and subsequent surgeries. More

Hope has a bad name these days among certain teachers. On the one hand, it seems to suggest wishful thinking that distracts us from a sober assessment of reality and fosters unrealistic expectations. As Nietzsche put it, “Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torments of man.” Meanwhile, in the language of “spirituality,” hope implies a rejection of the present moment, or perhaps a taint of doubt eroding the creative power of one’s intentions. But let us not be so quick to dismiss this primal element of the human psyche. More

The Power of Joy-Based Spending & Personal Finances
Budgeting. There, I said it. How did that word make you feel? If you are like most people you found yourself tensing up and feeling resistance. What if I told you there was another way to manage your cash flow, one that works with (not against) the flow of the universe. Would you be interested in learning more? More

Lessons From Tennis in Stress Reduction & Relaxation
Our approach to resilience differs from traditional notions of resilience in an important respect. When we tell people that our work is about helping our clients stay resilient, they often say, “I know someone who is very resilient; she bounced back from ___________.” You can fill in the blank: cancer, hurricane, divorce, or any other major ordeal that qualifies as something difficult to recover from. These extreme scenarios can be devastating, and a lot of support is available to help you manage these catastrophic events. More

Be Skeptical, But Learn to Listen
The fifth agreement is: be skeptical, but learn to listen. Be skeptical because most of what you hear isn’t true. You know that humans speak with symbols and that symbols aren’t the truth. Symbols are only the truth because we agree, not because they are really the truth. More

1. Connect: Checking in With My Feelings Take a quiet moment for yourself to investigate how you are feeling. Sit in a way that is steady and comfortable. Choose whether to put your hands in your lap, by your sides, or place a hand on your heart or your belly—whatever feels right to you. Focus on taking a few slow and steady breaths, and then ask yourself what emotions you are feeling right now. More
An Interview With Sharon Landrith
Omega: More people seem to be "waking up" spiritually than ever before, yet there also seems to be more injustice in the world. How can those who are waking up be effective game changers and not be overwhelmed by fear, anger, or sadness? More
