Marshawn D. Feltus is a Chicago West Side native and owner of ACT Yoga, the first yoga studio in Chicago’s Austin community. He is a student of faith and the holistic progression of humanity; he is a youth mentor and a certified public health peer educator. Feltus is certified in crisis prevention and conflict resolution, trained in mindfulness life style redirection and trauma dissection. He is also a program facilitator for adjudicated/detained youth and adults.
Feltus serves three nonprofit organizations: We Are Light, First Defense Legal Aid, and Yoga Service Council. He has landed local and international coverage in print and broadcast, including the cover of Yoga Journal, WTTW Chicago Tonight and Austin Weekly News, and is a co-contributor of the best practice for yoga in the criminal justice system. He has an invested passion for restorative justice and helping people to achieve awareness, change, and triumph.
