Barry Michels is coauthor of The Tools, a New York Times bestseller, and its sequel, Coming Alive. The resident therapist for goop.com, he has appeared on Nightline, Charlie Rose, and The Dr. Oz Show, has given a Google Talk, and has been featured in The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Psychology Today, and Vanity Fair

Barry holds a law degree from University of California, Berkeley, and a masters in social work from the University of Southern California. He has been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 1986.
