Women of the World brings women musicians from across the globe onto a common musical platform to collaborate and create.
Four women—Ayumi Ueda, Annette Philip, Débo Ray, Giorgia Renosto, and Patrick Simard on percussion—comprise the award winning vocal quartet. Their repertoire honors numerous global folk traditions in 31 languages. By making music together, they celebrate the beauty of diversity and friendship and sing for not just tolerance, but wisdom, respect, and joy.
Their journey and mission to explore and celebrate varied cultural ideologies of women throughout the world has featured performances at Carnegie Hall, Blue Note Jazz Club, Boston Symphony Hall, and The Kennedy Center. They are the 2014 Harmony Sweepstakes National Champions and nominee for the 2013 Boston Music Awards and 2014 Independent Music Awards.
