Sara Eckel is the author of It’s Not You: 27 (Wrong) Reasons You’re Single.
A freelance journalist since 1997, she has written extensively about relationships, personal growth, and mental well-being.
Her essays, arts criticism, and reported pieces have appeared in the New York Times, Salon, Forbes, The Shambhala Sun, The Village Voice, Bookforum, Time Out New York, Good, Working Mother, Self, Martha Stewart Living, Cosmopolitan, and many other publications. Her short fiction has been published in Speakeasy and Sanskrit.
For five years, Eckel was a nationally syndicated opinion columnist, with her weekly column appearing in more than 200 newspapers nationwide.
Eckel is also a student of meditation and Buddhism at the Shambhala Center of New York City and Sky Lake Lodge in Rosendale, New York, where she frequently staffs programs.
