John Hunt, a.k.a. Ranger Raccoon, is a native of the green mountains of N’dakinna, also known as Vermont. He is a member of the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation.
Hunt grew up on a rural farm and has been enthralled with the natural world since childhood. He has a passion for helping others strengthen their connection. He is a cofounder of ReTribe, an organization that supports youth and adults to become powerful, self-realized individuals who foster a “New Culture” built on radical acceptance and connection to self, others, and the earth. His work comes from the great desire to bring more harmony into the human family.
John is a poet, a drummer, has a strong meditation practice, and because of his deep love of Gaia, he has a passion for, and understanding of, sustainability issues on both a worldwide and individual scale. He is certified in Wilderness First Aid (SOLO), and was trained through the Mindfulness in Education Teacher Training with Daniel Rechtschaffen at Omega.
