Haley Stauffer

Haley Stauffer is a graduate assistant at Penn State University in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department. Stauffer’s graduate study focuses on conducting a techno-economic analysis on the supply chain logistics for biofuel production from switchgrass in the United States. In 2019, she worked as a graduate student mentor for six Drawdown Scholars who focused on the methane digester drawdown solution.

The scholars looked at various aspects of the supply chain model for biogas production from anaerobic digestion of biomass at a state (Pennsylvania), university (Penn State University) and city (Pittsburgh) scale. Stauffer is intrigued by the interconnected social, economic, and environmental components of the agricultural system as it relates to food security and renewable energy production.
