David Richo

David Richo, PhD, MFT, is a teacher, workshop leader, and a psychotherapist with offices in Santa Barbara and San Francisco, California. Known for drawing on Buddhism, poetry, and Jungian perspectives in his work, Richo is author of many books, including How to Be an Adult in Love, How to Be an Adult in Relationships, and Daring to Trust.

Since 1976, Richo has been a licensed marriage, family, and child counselor in California. In addition to practicing psychotherapy, he teaches courses at Santa Barbara City College and the University of California Berkeley at Berkeley. He has also taught at the Esalen Institute, Spirit Rock Retreat Center, Pacifica Graduate Institute, and Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. He is a clinical supervisor for the Community Counseling Center in Santa Barbara.

David Richo is also author of The Five Things We Cannot Change, When the Past Is Present, Shadow Dance, The Power of Coincidence, Being True to Life, and Coming Home to Who You Are.
