Christopher K. Germer, PhD, author of The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion and coeditor of Mindfulness and Psychotherapy, is a clinical instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School and a founding member of the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. He also is cocreator, with Kristin Neff, of the eight-week Mindful Self-Compassion training program that teaches self-compassion skills.
As a clinical psychologist in private practice specializing in mindfulness and acceptance-based treatments of anxiety and panic, Christopher K. Germer has been integrating meditation and mindfulness principles into psychotherapy since 1978 and has taken numerous trips to India to explore meditation and yoga. He lectures internationally on mindfulness and self-compassion.
