Yoga is widely misunderstood as purely a physical practice. This ancient wisdom system, however, comprises four intertwined paths that, when followed, can lead to true liberation:
- Jnana (knowledge)
- Bhakti (devotion)
- Karma (service)
- Raja (practice)
Acharya Shunya, the first female lineage holder in her 2,000-year-old Vedic tradition, is uniquely positioned to teach not only the "what," but also the "why" of these yogic practices, which are complementary and provide the most healing when embarked upon simultaneously.
You not only learn about these four paths, but also how to integrate their teachings into your everyday life. Each path asks something different of the practitioner.
As Acharya says, asana or meditation without intention of devotion toward unification with the Divine Self is purely exercise or breathing. Pursuing knowledge of our interconnectedness through the study of ancient texts is less effective if that knowledge is not then put into practice in selfless service.
Expect to leave this workshop with a blueprint for integrated living from a true yogic foundation.
