Muneeza’s Cashew ‘Cheese’

Cashews are the base of this tasty vegan dip that can substitute as cheese in a dairy-free diet. Cashews have a lower fat content than most other nuts and provide numerous health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure and supporting heart health.

Makes 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw cashews, soaked in water to cover for at least 20 minutes 

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 tablespoon raw honey

  • 3/4 cup filtered water

  • 1 teaspoon Herbes de Provence

  • 1/2 teaspoon veggie pepper seasoning blend

  • Sea salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Drain the cashews. Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix on high speed. 

    If you need to thin out the “cheese” a bit more, add water, a tablespoon at a time.
     

  2. Variations: (Add one variation at a time, to taste.)

    Red bell pepper
    Parsley
    Cilantro
    Tomatoes
    Onions
