Wilka Roig works as a death doula and grief counselor and is an ordained interfaith minister, dream worker, writer, Taoist arts instructor, cellist, and silversmith. She is devoted to the evolution of our loss, grief, and end-of-life culture. She trained with the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) in 2017, and it confirmed for her that what we must tend in order to not lose sleep at night is the same as what we must address to prepare for dying. As a teacher with INELDA, her commitment is to grow and promote the end-of-life doula movement in Latin America and globally.
Wilka was born and raised in Puerto Rico and completed a bachelor’s degree in creative cultural expression that included a focus on psychology and writing, and a master's of fine arts in photography. She put herself through school by working in restaurants, and later worked as lecturer of art at Cornell University. She also completed a master’s in transpersonal psychology.
