Laurie Doctor is an American painter, writer, and calligrapher. For 25 years, she has cultivated an active lecture and workshop schedule across three continents. 

Her artwork is in permanent collections in the US and Europe, including Akademie der Künste in Berlin; the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach, Germany; Special Collections at the University of Colorado; New Editions Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky; and the Harrison Collection in San Francisco.

Her blog, The Silver Fraction, has more than 2,000 active subscribers. Her articles and art have appeared in Alphabet, Letter Arts Review, Type magazine, Triggerfish Critical Review, Somerset Studios, Women in the Arts magazine, Quadrant: The Journal of the C. G. Jung Foundation, Naropa Magazine, and Print magazine.
