Bob Parsons joined the U.S. Marine Corps during his senior year of high school. After graduating, he attended boot camp in Parris Island, SC, where more than 200,000 recruits trained during the Vietnam War. Bob was deployed to Quång Nam Province in Vietnam at age 18 as part of Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marines. He saw combat within 4 hours of his arrival.
Only a month later, while the second-point man on a nighttime ambush, Parsons hit a tripwire. It had been missed and stepped over by the Marine in front of him. After recovering in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan for several months, he completed his tour as a courier of classified documents. Parsons was awarded four medals and one ribbon, including the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
Parsons is an entrepreneur and philanthropist committed to supporting fellow veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He encourages veterans who bravely served our country to bravely seek out healing so that they, too, can finally, truly, “come home.”
