I think it’s particularly true in finance, where there are so many multi-syllable words and acronyms. I want to encourage people that the good personal finance ideas are simple: Save. Don’t spend money you don’t have. Don’t take more risk on in your investments than you need.

When the language around finances becomes so complex that you can’t understand it, the odds are exceptionally high that the person talking to you doesn’t understand it either and they’re falling into jargon, too. So feel confident to keep asking until you have clarity.
