Kelly McGonigal, PhD, is a health psychologist and lecturer at Stanford University, and a leading expert in the new field of “science-help.” She is passionate about translating cutting-edge research from psychology, neuroscience, and medicine into practical strategies for health, happiness, and personal success.
McGonigal is editor in chief of the International Journal of Yoga Therapy and author of Yoga for Pain Relief, The Willpower Instinct, and the audio series The Neuroscience of Change. She leads yoga teacher trainings that take a unique and integrative approach to yoga philosophy, anatomy, physiology, and psychology.
McGonigal is also a founding member of the Yoga Service Council and an advisor to many nonprofit organizations bringing yoga and meditation to at-risk and underserved populations, including Yoga Bear (yoga for cancer survivors) and The Art of Yoga Project (yoga for at-risk teen girls).
