Gaura Vani, a multidisciplinary artist fluent in music, film, and the visual arts, was given the gift of devotional song from birth, raised with the music of the temple, taught to sing, play beautiful instruments, and dance for love and for God.
For two decades, he has toured globally and released multiple albums, sharing the stage with artists such as Jai Uttal and Krishna Das. His collaborations include As Kindred Spirits, a fusion of East and West rooted in bhakti; and The Hanumen, a soulful quartet combining world percussion, chant, and harmony. He also performs with The Juggernauts, bringing high-energy kirtan to festival audiences.
Gaura’s music has echoed through the halls of major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Floyd Fest, Bhakti Fest, Omega Ecstatic Chant, and Wanderlust, as well as temples, opera houses, yoga studios, and sacred spaces around the world. His discography includes Ten Million Moons, and Leaps & Bounds, each offering a rich landscape of devotion and rhythm.
Gaura is also a father and a traveler. Circling the globe for the last 20 years, he’s collected stories and songs to heal the heart, soothe the soul, and rock this crazy rock we call home.
Gaura’s life itself reads like a storybook. He was raised by monks in temples from the age of four, immersed in the magic of mantra and ritual as a part of daily life. In his teens, he rebelled and went on to become an actor in Hollywood, appearing in films with the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, and others. Starting from his first rock-and-roll band in high school, Gaura has produced and recorded 10 albums and thousands of songs.
