Deidre Farmbry, PhD, is a career educator, having held the positions of English teacher, English department head, high school principal, regional superintendent, chief academic officer, and interim superintendent over her career in the School District of Philadelphia.
She is currently an independent consultant specializing in social and emotional learning (SEL) through her role as a District Senior Advisor for the Chicago based Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Through CASEL, she has assisted many school districts in the United States, helping them be strategic in practices to reflect their commitment to SEL. Farmbry also serves as a professional learning facilitator and district coach for the Boston based Coalition of School Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC).
Farmbry has presented at educational forums internationally and nationally, facilitating sessions on multiple occasions at Learning Forward and COSEBOC’s annual Gathering of Leaders.
