Alysia Reiner is an actress, producer, humanitarian, and outspoken environmentalist.
She is often recognized for her roles in Sideways and Orange is the New Black, where she plays Natalie “Fig” Figueroa. She has been in a number of other television shows, movies, and theater productions, and received an Obie Award for her performance in An Oak Tree.
Reiner produced and starred in Speed Grieving, which is now used as a support tool by Cancer Support Community centers nationally.
She and her husband used the renovation of their brownstone in Harlem as a way to encourage others to go green. The project was chronicled online and in Dwell and The Nest magazines as well as profiled on several television shows, including Renovation Nation and the World’s Greenest Homes episode of Home & Family.
Alysia Reiner is on the board of The Broad Collective and is involved in many charities, including the Cancer Support Community, Actors For Autism, The Young Women’s Leadership Network, Amnesty International, and Our Time Theatre Company, Whitehead Institute of Biomedical Research, Joyful Heart Foundation, GEMS, and Circle of Health International.
