Through visual record-keeping, these contemporary fiber artists stitch stories both personal and societal into powerful works of fine art.
Historically rooted, this exquisite feminine communicative medium was not recognized as a fine art form. However, today fiber artists have gained recognition as 'fine artists" in museums around the world. This exhibition brings together artists from as far away as Canada, South Africa, and Alabama. The approach and aesthetic of each artist is based on a persnal history that connects to the wider feminine condition.
The exhibition connects 14 artists through story, situation, society, and one common thread – now more than ever, women must #DoPowerDifferently
This exhibit was presented by the Omega Women's Leadership Center and was on view October 6 - 8, 2017 in the Main Hall on our campus.
