Finding one's voice is the very essence of meaning making, of living a life of purpose. The subject is intertwined with fundamental questions about truth, identity, agency, and empowerment. One of the most powerful ways to find one’s voice is through friendship. Friendship is a special, magical way of cultivating: openness, vulnerability, curiosity, courage, grace, flexibility, forgiveness, honesty, wonder, and gratitude.
In this workshop for all who identify as women, join neuroscientist Sará King and yoga and mindfulness educator Nichol Chase on a journey of self-discovery and radical friendship at the nexus of science, art, and contemplative wisdom. Contemplative wisdom traditions are rooted in practices that heighten awareness and help cultivate wisdom and authenticity. These practices come to life through creative artistic expression. They have the propensity to reveal your unique gifts and passions, and bolster your resolve to speak powerfully and to show up for each other in friendship.
We need to know now more than ever how to show up for each other in radical friendship – a somatic, emotional, psychological and relational practice of deeply connecting with ourselves and others with self-love and self-compassion. Together we can commit to changing the world through the process of attuning to one another.
Together we will explore all the layers of our identity—individual, relational, and collective—through lectures, discussions, art making, and practices involving music, movement, and meditation. Throughout the weekend we gain insight, compassion, and wisdom as we discover our true voices.
