Saffran Mihnar is an advocate for climate solutions focused on communication, campaigning, and negotiations. His work empowers young people in the field of climate change and sustainable development. Mihnar has actively contributed to global and national processes and youth platforms, including being a youth delegate for multiple sessions of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and serving as a resource person and lead facilitator for several other international forums for thematic topics under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Agreement.

He was recognized as the most outstanding global leader for the Global Youth Power Campaign launched by Restless Development. Mihnar recently Initiated the Youth Voices for Climate Action and was part of the team of researchers and policy experts who mapped the linkages between public sector institutions and the SDGs for their National Roadmap planning process for the Agenda2030. He also contributed to the national scoping study on “Innovative Climate Financing to Leverage Private-sector Financing” for the SDGs in the Asia-Pacific region of the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

Additionally, he supported researching for the pilot application of the “Analytical Framework for the integration of water and sanitation SDG 6 targets”, using the system thinking approach in Sri Lanka. Mihnarwas an active participant in Sri Lanka’s Voluntary National Review, participating in consultations and workshops leading to its development.
