Musician, songwriter, and music educator Karla Schickele founded the award-winning music and mentoring program Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls in New York City, where she served as executive director for 12 years. She has more than 15 years experience leading music workshops for adults, teens, and kids in both educational and professional development settings. Karla has performed and recorded widely, and toured internationally as a member of the indie rock band Ida.
