Whether you’re starting with a new idea or working on an adaptation, this screenwriting intensive with Pilar Alessandra takes you from the premise to the page. Learn the nuts and bolts of scriptwriting for features and television with the author of The Coffee Break Screenwriter.

Through lively discussions, hands-on exercises, and plenty of practice, you:

  • Brainstorm to reveal the story you want to tell
  • Outline your script without having to write a novel
  • Develop scene activity through in-depth character work
  • Discover how to approach dialogue-driven scenes effectively
  • Learn to get your story out of your head and onto the page quickly, efficiently, and creatively by “roughing it out” with a speed draft

Return home with all the tools, inspiration, and motivation you need to finish your screenplay—and get started on the next one.

Pilar Alessandra, author of The Coffee Break Screenwriter, is director of the writing program On the Page®. After working as a senior story analyst for DreamWorks SKG, she opened the On the Page Writers’ Studio in Los Angeles.
