Being With Flowers

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

Spiritual teachers of all ages, including Buddha, Christ, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Eckhart Tolle, point to flowers to transmit deep teachings of profound meditation. In this workshop, we explore for ourself the simple yet profound meditation of being with flowers.

Anthony Ward, who has graced the Omega campus, indoors and outside, with his floral designs for more than a decade, helps us go deeper into our contemplative relationship with flowers. Through guided meditation, periods of silence, breathwork, and walking meditation, we awaken to the essential nature of flowers and explore parallels in our own life.

Ward also demonstrates his celebrated process for creating floral expressions of the divine. We take walks to collect grasses, vines, branches, wildflowers, and leaves on the beautiful Omega grounds; other gorgeous flowers are brought in, and we create our own inspired floral arrangements.

Bring comfortable walking shoes and garden clippers.

Anthony Ward has created personal floral offerings for some of the world’s most noted spiritual luminaries, including the Dalai Lama, Eckhart Tolle, and Thich Nhat Hanh. He has also created for entertainment icons Madonna, Bette Midler, and Ben Harper. His work has appeared in In Style, Modern Bride, and Spirituality & Health magazines, and many newspapers worldwide. He has created floral sculptures on stage in performance with Bobby McFerrin, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Michael Franti and Spearhead, and for Nawang Khechog. beingwithflowers.com
