This workshop, designed for people with little or no experience in drawing or creative expression, introduces the basic skills necessary for realistic drawing. Perhaps more importantly, the workshop teaches us how to see and think differently by tapping into the nonverbal, nondominant right side of the brain.

Under the experienced and dynamic guidance of Lynda Greenberg, we learn and practice the concepts presented in Betty Edwards book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, and discover abilities we may not know we have. Through a carefully sequenced process, we begin to employ strategies of perceiving that enable us to draw with a high degree of skill. The learning is relaxed, friendly, and supportive, and the results are remarkable.

The workshop offers unparalleled drawing and the scenic possibilities of the Costa Rican landscape. The main pavilion offers panoramic ocean views, presenting stunning possibilities for illustration and meditation. We also focus our drawings on tropical flowers, like orchids and birds of paradise.

A list of things to bring will be sent upon registration.

Lynda Greenberg, MFA, a practicing artist in Long Beach, California, teaches art courses at Antelope Valley and Harbor colleges and institutions around the country.
