Last year, Omega Institute presented a rare gathering with some of the nation’s most innovative voices in the sound healing community to explore the most current research and applications of ancient and modern therapeutic tools in sound healing. This year, Omega is pleased to offer this special symposium again, with expert teachers who provide updates in the latest research and techniques in the field. Mitchell L. Gaynor shares simple sound practices that have significantly improved the recovery rates of cancer patients. John Beaulieu reveals recent studies on the molecular effects of sound that show markers which may decrease chronic aging and disease. And, Therese Schroeder-Sheker uses harp and song to demonstrate effective tools for assisting dying patients and their families. We also have the opportunity to transform our more common personal experiences with sound and music. Through traditional esoteric sound practices, Zacciah Blackburn guides us through the inner realms of our consciousness, exploring the innate nature of wellness and human awakening. Master improvisational musician Rich Goodhart leads us in a vibrant evening concert of music and participatory chant.
Saturday evening David Newman (Durga Das) and Mira, Rich Goodheart, and friends offer a heartfelt evening of ecstatic call and response chanting, devotional music, and sacred song. No prior musical experience necessary.
