Dance Your Bliss

Movement as Medicine

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

“Your body speaks your truth. All you have to do is listen,” says Rachel Fleischman. “Even if you have never danced a step, you can awaken your inner dancer and experience the pleasure, power, and passion of your body.”

Guided by Fleischman, a Body-Centered Expressive Arts therapist, we move to the rhythms of music from all over the world to release stress and begin to connect motion with emotion. As we continue our journey deeper into the body through a fun and playful mix of improvised movement, vocalization, guided imagery, art making, journaling, play, and body-centered expressive therapy, we learn to:

  • Cultivate self-acceptance and appreciation
  • Transform our fears and negative beliefs
  • Improve our body image
  • Move in new, transformative, and empowering ways
  • Ignite our creative fire

Whether we dance every day or have never danced before, this workshop, for women and men alike, gives us the tools to fully and passionately express ourselves. We return home feeling embodied and whole.

Wear loose, comfortable clothes. Rachel Fleischman is also a part of Being Yoga, August 21-23, 2009
