Tango Zensual™

Tango in Close Embrace

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

Tango Zensual™ is designed to help dancers experience and appreciate tango milonguero—a style of tango danced in close embrace.

Tango milonguero has been danced in the crowded clubs of Buenos Aires for decades; it is a dance of connection, uniting two partners while walking and listening to music together. Dancing tango milonguero is more than executing numerous steps. It involves improvisation and subtlety communicated between two partners moving as one. Therefore, learning to enjoy dancing this tango requires both physical and mental discipline.

Tango Zensual™ creators Chan and Eugenia Park teach us the skills we need to master this sensual Argentinian dance. We learn to be attentive of body and mind, recognize the importance of connection with our partner, be sensitive to music, and appreciate our surroundings while dancing. As we practice tango milonguero, we increase our sense of concentration, creativity, sensitivity, and precision within ourself and with our partner.

Prior experience in tango is helpful, but not required. Registration with a partner is recommended.

Chan and Eugenia Park are also teaching Tango With the Buddha, June 28-July 3.

Chan and Eugenia Park are innovative and adventurous instructors who have made it their quest to promote tango and walking meditation for pleasure and inner peace. For years, they have offered workshops in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Chan is the author of Tango Zen and teaches in Buenos Aires. tangozen.com
