Advanced Yoga for Everyone

Developing a Personal Yoga Practice

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

According to the great “teacher’s teacher” T. Krishnamacharya, yoga must be adapted to the individual, not the individual adapted to the style of yoga. For your yoga practice to be most fruitful, it must be in harmony with your body type, age, health, and even cultural background.

This weekend, you learn to design your own personal yoga practice. No matter what style of yoga you are currently practicing, you can incorporate the insights gleaned from the development of a personal practice and make your yoga more efficient, powerful, and safe.

Led by Mark Whitwell, you learn to integrate breath, asana, and bandha as a seamless process to produce a powerful practice that is right for you. As you deepen into your personal yoga practice, you discover more completely that yoga is your direct connection with reality, which is an entirely abundant, regenerating, and nurturing power.

Everyone, from beginners to experienced practitioners, is invited to attend.

Mark Whitwell is also part of Being Yoga; August 20-22, 2010.

Mark Whitwell has enjoyed a lifelong relationship with the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya through his studies with B.K.S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Indra Devi, A.G. Mohan, and T.K.V. Desikachar. He is author of Yoga of Heart: The Healing Power of Intimate Connection and founder of The Heart of Yoga Association, a nonprofit that provides yoga education around the world. heartofyoga.com
