To be most effective in our efforts to heal the world, our actions must spring from our own joy and sense of interconnection. Come and immerse yourself in the principles of spiritual activism, a growing approach to social justice that provides a holistic, relationship-based framework for creating change.
Using role-playing, guided meditation, talking circles, movement, and art projects, we creatively explore the questions: What is the motivation behind my action? How do I shift the focus of my actions from fighting what saddens and angers me to cultivating joy while creating the change I want to see? How can I find compassion for all beings involved in every side of an issue?
We also gain tools to identify personal visions for change and healing, practices to support taking effective and joyful action, and concrete next steps for bringing our inspirations to life, including identifying a resource base.
This workshop welcomes activists and spiritual practitioners, and those who consider themselves a combination of both.
