"Clearly we are at a threshold where our Western ingenuity and daring is being called upon to bring to the general public new models for health and healing," says Emilie Conrad.
In this workshop, through a rich palette of movement explorations, Conrad's Continuum movement work teaches us how to activate the fluid within our cells and tissues, creating a kaleidoscope of primordial movement that transcends time, space, or condition.
Like an octopus that rearranges its structure according to circumstance, Conrad says, we—although vertebrates—have the same capacity within our own tissue organization.
"All living systems thrive or diminish depending on their interactions with the environment," she notes. "As multi-cellular beings, our fundamental bio-environment is governed by the vitality of the movement of breath and fluid as it resonates with our biosphere. The scope of this resonant nourishment is reflected in the enrichment of our immune systems as the flow of information within our cells becomes increasingly enriched."
Laypeople, health professionals, movement therapists, and others interested in exploring this fascinating field are invited.
CE available. Extended hours. See the participant letter for more information (pdf format; must have Adobe Acrobat Reader).
