Brainspotting is a powerful psychotherapy approach that reveals and releases unprocessed experiences held in the brain and the body. This method is designed to locate “relevant eye positions,” or “Brainspots,” which correspond with neurologically stored traumas and symptoms.
Reflexive responses, observed by the therapist or client, are located by scanning across the visual field, then are focused and held in place with a fixed eye gaze. This process is enhanced by healing BioLateral™ sound. Brainspotting is a simultaneous diagnostic and treatment tool that rapidly, deeply, and permanently releases emotional and physical symptoms including trauma, anxiety, depression, body pain, and tension.
Mental health professionals, particularly those with experience in trauma and dissociation, are invited to join David Grand, founder of Brainspotting, to learn how to apply this unique and effective method. Through lecture, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and question-and-answer sessions, we learn to use this technique by exploring our own personal history and trauma background.
This five-day program certifies you in Phase I and II of Brainspotting training and allows you to return to your practice with dramatically enhanced skills to provide faster, deeper, and more focused healing to your clients.
$50 materials fee; include when you register. Bring a CD or MP3 player. Recommended reading: Grand, Emotional Healing at Warp Speed and Scaer, The Trauma Spectrum.
