TangoZen™ is a fusion of Zen meditation and tango dancing that allows dancers and nondancers alike to experience the joyful and healing benefits of both walking meditation and tango.
Chan Park, creator of TangoZen, and Eugenia Park guide you in exercises adapted from martial arts, such as tai chi and qigong, and meditation techniques, such as zazen and yoga, to increase your concentration, creativity, and sensitivity. As you learn to apply these chi-related exercises to tango movements, you:
- Enhance self-awareness
- Experience holistic connection with your dance partner, the music, and your surroundings
- Acquire walking meditation skills alone, in pairs, and within groups
- Learn fundamental tango dance skills
- Experience the joy of dancing tango
TangoZen is open to people of any skill level in dance or meditation.
This workshop is also offered May 7-9, 2010.
