When met with conflict, our tendency is to either avoid it altogether or dig in our heels out of fear of losing ground-especially when we feel we have less power. We grasp, push, and threaten, creating greater division when what we really want is greater connection.
Whether the conflict is with a boss, lover, or our own self, aggression is never a viable solution. But, most times, neither is simply acquiescing. If true relationship is about learning how to handle conflict well, just how do we go about it?
Inspired by tantric wisdom, the four awakened actions-pacify, enrich, magnetize, destroy-are a prescription for working in a methodical way with conflict, whether perceived as inner or outer. We do not impose these actions, but learn to discern which actions are appropriate for certain situations and draw on these four actions to drop out of fear and separation into wise, compassionate relationship with any conflict.
This workshop is open to all and is especially valuable for leaders, activists, and change agents.
