Touch Drawing

Drawing Out Your Soul

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

In Touch Drawing, the touch of fingertips on paper that is placed over a smooth surface of paint forms imprints on the underside. Through the speed and directness of this process, we can create many drawings in a short period of time, offering a sense of freedom that allows us to release deep layers of emotion and lets our soul and spirit emerge. When the drawings are complete, we reflect on them to witness our transformative journey and access our inner wisdom.

Deborah Koff-Chapin, creator of Touch Drawing, creates a safe and sacred atmosphere for this inward, creative exploration. We are serenaded by her evocative live music and supported by gentle suggestions as we draw. Writing, toning, movement, and talking circles help us to open channels of expression and integrate our images.

People who are “artistically unconfident” often discover the joy of authentic creative expression. Experienced artists find new sources of inspiration.

Touch Drawing has applications in the fields of therapy, healing, education, creativity, and spirituality. We gain enough experience this weekend to integrate the process into our own area of work.

Bring a smock or old shirt and a writing journal.

Deborah Koff-Chapin has been developing Touch Drawing since originating it in 1974. She is creator of SoulCards 1&2 and author of Drawing Out Your Soul. Koff-Chapin is adjunct professor at California Institute of Integral Studies and has presented at conferences and institutions worldwide. touchdrawing.com
