Omega Local Food Teen Camp:
Cooking, Farming & Changing the World Through Food

Omega Local Food Teen Camp is much more than your typical culinary camp!

Omega Local Food Teen Camp is much more than your typical culinary camp! In addition to visiting local farms and preparing great meals, we also explore where our food comes from and how to make the best food choices for ourselves and our planet. We take several trips to local farms, where we'll pick berries, make friends with some dairy farmers and their cows, learn different farming methods, and have a great time eating, learning, and playing. Join us and become a leader in conscious, healthy, and sustainable living!

Rebecca Sornson is a graduate of Bastyr University, where she studied whole food nutrition, herbal sciences, and health psychology. She is the program coordinator at the Virgin Island's Sustainable Farm Institute in St. Croix. There she teaches young people about local food, helps start school gardens, and feeds a lot of chickens. Rebecca is also a yoga teacher and has been a counselor at Omega Teen Camp for four years.

Simeon Darwick has studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is an Integrative Nutrition health counselor, certified Kundalini Yoga and Laughter Yoga teacher, tennis instructor, and personal trainer. He has taught at the Omega Institute and Omega Teen Camp, and his passion is to inspire and uplift people through joy and connection with the Earth as well as healthy food and lifestyle choices.

Rosi Miller, a returning Omega Teen Camp counselor, has a degree in health psychology and spirituality. She is dedicated to incorporating the principles of sustainability into her own life, including increased awareness of consumer consciousness, growing food, eating local and organic foods, and participating in local community supported agriculture and community gardens. She is excited to teach teens to do the same during Omega Local Food Teen Camp.
