In this fun workshop, Carmen Robles Herrera introduces us to her Dashimo™ (Dance, A Self-Healing Innate Movement) Technique, which combines empowering and liberating Latin dances, breathing techniques, yoga, and energy balancing to reawaken our innate ability to dance. Through humor, group and individual dancing, discussion, writing, drawing, and lecture, we: - Learn how to dance the plena, merengue, bachata, salsa, and more to popular Latin beats
- Discover the self-healing aspects of dance
- Explore chakra balancing
- Expand our vision of gender roles in partner dancing
- Learn the cultural background of Latin dances
- Release stressors, toxins, tension, and anxiety
Those who have never danced, or who feel anxious about dancing, find themselves moving with confidence, and experienced dancers learn to integrate more of their bodies, feelings, and emotions into their dance. Wear comfortable clothes. Dancing barefoot is encouraged, but you may also wear comfortable shoes. Come with a partner or come on your own.Carmen Robles Herrera, MSEd, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice for 20 years.
