Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

Joe Dispenza, featured in What the BLEEP Do We Know?! and the best-selling author of Evolve Your Brain: The Science of Changing Your Mind, is a pioneer in exploring the multifaceted relationship between our brain and body. In this workshop, he shows us how we can make important changes in our mind-body connection to bring about profound personal transformation.

Through multimedia presentations and interactive exercises, Dispenza guides us on a journey in brain evolution using scientifically proven neurophysiological principles. We learn the important steps to overcoming destructive emotional states such as insecurity, unworthiness, and anger. Then we find out how to replace those emotions with new states of mind as we are guided through a 10-step process of personal change to transform ourself from thinking, to doing, to being.

We also learn how neural nets are assembled; the nature of mind; the nature of attention and how we can improve it; and the relationship between our mind and our life.

“Your mind is your brain in action,” Dispenza says. “Change your mind, change your brain; change your brain, change your mind.”

Participants will be better able to:

  • Cite neuroscientific studies that describe how the mind can heal
  • Describe the relationship between thoughts and the physical body
  • Discuss the effect of stress on the brain and body
  • Describe neuroplasticity and the art of “rewiring” the brain
  • Utilize the technique of mental rehearsal to help patients make positive changes in thinking
  • Identify the importance of the frontal lobe in “reshaping” one’s brain and outcome
