At the dawn of the 21st century, there's a growing interest in past-life regression therapy. Whether it is experienced as an actual past life or a useful metaphor for working through major issues, past-life therapy has become increasingly recognized by the mental health profession as an effective and important modality of treatment.
Brian Weiss offers this training for health-care professionals and nonprofessionals covering all aspects of regression therapy. He is joined by his wife Carole K. Weiss, who has worked with her husband for 23 years and has been coteaching with him for 10 years.
During the week, we gain theoretical knowledge, intensive practical skills, and experience in past-life therapy. For health-care professionals, this training can add a new dimension to their therapeutic repertoire and develop their skills as guides to help others understand their connections to past lives. Nonprofessionals can explore their own past lives as a way toward increased self-understanding and understanding of the nature of human existence. We learn to:
- understand the historical basis and perspective of hypnosis, visual imagery, and meditation techniques;
- review existing research on the use of hypnosis, imagery, and working with past lives:
- identify the mind-body connection and its relationship to healing physical and psychological illness;
- identify the capacity of a client to undergo hypnosis;
- conduct a hypnotic induction;
- interpret the content of a client's hypnotic recall;
- discuss legal and ethical issues and concerns; and
- lead guided visualization exercises.
This training offers an invaluable opportunity to become part of a network of therapists and interested lay people using these techniques; learn past-life therapy techniques while exploring your own past lives; and retrieve and release memories from childhood and prior lives to build healthy relationships, enhance creativity, and find greater satisfaction in life.
Basic hypnosis training is included in this workshop. Throughout the training, formal presentation is alternated with demonstrations, experiential exercises, hands-on training sessions, and informal question-and-answer periods.

Brian Weiss, MD, is chairman emeritus of psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and the nation's leading authority on past-life regression therapy.
