Sacred sound is as old as life itself. In fact, according to many spiritual traditions, sacred sound is the very nature of creation. When we attune to our own true nature and give voice to it with clarity, trust, and intention, we align in harmony with sacred sound and feel connected, inspired, whole, and healed. Guided by Zacciah Blackburn, director of education at the International Sound Healing Network, we experience sacred sound through a variety of chanting, toning, and esoteric practices, including connecting to the natural world. These techniques are powerful, beneficial, and effective, and can be incorporated into healing practices of all kinds. We also discover how to use sacred sound to explore deeper states of being—opening doorways to greater awareness, intuition, and universal wisdom—and learn sacred sound practices for world service. You don’t need to be a good singer or have a trained voice to participate, just a willingness to express your authentic feelings with sacred sound. Health and counseling professionals can use these powerful sacred sound practices to help their clients. Bring instruments you use in sacred practices, if you have them; additional instruments will be provided. This program begins Monday at 2:00 p.m. with the Special Labor Day Session of Ecstatic Chant and ends Friday at noon. Zacciah Blackburn is also part of the Sound Healing Symposium; July 30-August 1, 2010.Zacciah Blackburn, PhD, is a gifted intuitive, teacher, and sound healer.
