Tango With the Buddha

Tango Zen

This workshop has been cancelled.
Tango Zen is an innovative yet natural practice of meditating while dancing tango. Building on the striking similarities between tango and Zen meditation, this workshop introduces methods through which dancers can experience and enjoy the wonderful benefits that both tango and Zen have to offer.

Each session introduces exercises that help establish a keen sense of posture, axis, grounding, breathing, balance, sensitivity—and ultimately—a connection between the partners. Through the exercises, you come to a better understanding of tango and meditation, and not only learn to meditate while dancing but also while living your daily life.

You also learn basic tango steps through a systematic approach, achieving the joy of dancing with emphasis on simple body movements, appreciation of music, recognition of inner self, and oneness with your partner.

As innovative and adventurous tango dance instructors and walking meditation coaches, Chan and Eugenia Park have made it their quest to promote tango and walking meditation for pleasure and inner peace. For years, they have offered workshops in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Chan recently published a book titled Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation.
