Writing is a powerful way to connect to the sacred within us. However, whether we write for publication, pleasure, or personal growth, writing eventually leads us to places inside us that are uncomfortable and don’t feel sacred at all. We writers—of all levels and genres—can learn to ask the intimate questions that open up our process and move us beyond these places of discomfort. In this process oriented workshop, we discover how to sit in the chair long enough to hear our own words without judgment. Award-winning writer Laraine Herring helps us access the deepest parts of ourselves through writing by illuminating the key areas of distraction and guiding us to utilize the wisdom in our own body and breath. As we spend time writing, meditating, breathing, and being in deep communion with ourself, we learn to observe our thoughts, step outside ourself to a place of witness consciousness, and move into our body. In doing so, we learn how to connect with the seat of our own wisdom and allow our words to flow from the authentic and sacred source of our soul.
