| Jivamukti Yoga® Immersion takes you deeper into the study of Jivamukti Yoga® and its five tenets: nonviolence, devotion, meditation, scripture, and music. Perfect for Jivamukti Yoga® teachers who are looking for a refresher course, yoga students from other disciplines who are curious about what goes on in a Jivamukti Yoga® teacher training, and those brand new to yoga, this immersion provides a terrific opportunity to deepen your yoga practice, meet old and new friends, and build a worldwide yoga community. Anyone at any level of experience is welcome.
Jivamukti’s passionate focus on the original meaning of the Sanskrit word “asana”—as seat, connection to the earth—is as practical as it is radical during this time of global consciousness shift. Taught by the creators of the Jivamukti method, Sharon Gannon and David Life, along with Jules Febre and Shyamdas, the week promises to be a mystical adventure into the transcendental. The immersion includes:
- The special Labor Day Session of Ecstatic Chant on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to midnight
- Daily asana practice, including sessions focused on in-depth practical exploration
- Meditation instruction and daily practice
- Study of the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra
- Investigation of the link between yoga and vegetarianism
- Question-and-answer sessions with faculty
This workshop begins Monday at 1:00 p.m. and concludes on Friday at noon. Certified Jivamukti Yoga® teachers already enrolled in the Apprenticeship Program can receive credit hours toward their 800-hour certification. Sharon Gannon and David Life are also teaching Jivamukti Yoga® Teacher Training, April 24-May 20, 2011.
