Classical Yoga Teacher Training

The Next Level for Yoga Teachers & Practitioners

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.

Yoga teachers are increasingly being called upon by students to take their yoga practice to the next level. Many people are teaching asana, but very few are teaching an integral vision of the complete eight-limbed path of classical (raja) yoga. Students are looking for transformation, and yoga teachers need to be equipped, beyond asana, to provide the spiritual guidance for a global shift in consciousness.

In this yoga teacher training, yoga pioneer Beryl Bender Birch leads you in the practices of asana, adjustments, alignment, modifications, pranayama, and yoga therapy. You also discover, through discussion and meditation, the secret teachings of classical yoga’s inner limbs encoded in the Yoga Sutra. Birch’s teaching helps you catapult your own practice beyond asana to the outer edges of your spiritual potential, moving you from self-centeredness and simple survival to the enlightened yoga experience of connectedness with all things.

This 7-day yoga teacher training, open to all, is one segment (67 hours) of ongoing 200-, 500-, and 1,000-hour teacher training programs offered by Omega Institute and The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute. It prepares you for professional yoga teacher certification. It can also be taken separately for continuing education credit.

Beryl Bender Birch is also teaching Boomer Yoga; October 1-3, 2010, and is part of Being Yoga; August 20-22, 2010.
