How Shamans Dream the World Into Being

Registration for this workshop has ended. Go to the Search Workshops page to look for upcoming workshops.
During the Middle Ages, two stone masons were in Paris working on what would become the Notre Dame Cathedral. When asked by a traveler what they were doing, one answered, "Squaring a stone," while the other replied, "I am building a cathedral."

Just like the stone masons, we can choose to live in a way that is limiting or empowering. The Notre Dame Cathedral took nearly 200 years to complete, yet in the dreamtime experienced by shamans, the cathedral already existed. The second mason understood that he was part of the larger dream of the cathedral even though, in linear time, both masons were engaged in the same activity.

Guided by medical anthropologist and psychologist Alberto Villoldo, we learn to look beyond ordinary time and dream our destiny into being, whether this means creating greater well-being, abundance, or world peace. Specifically, we:
  • Learn journeying techniques
  • Discover tools for accessing the deep creativity accessible through the cosmos
  • Engage in ceremony
  • Receive shamanic rites of passage
  • Take home powerful, practical techniques that we can employ every day
Alberto Villoldo is also teaching The Shaman's Way of Healing, September 5-7.

Alberto Villoldo, PhD, is a medical anthropologist and psychologist who has studied and practiced the shamanic traditions of the Andes and Amazon for more than 30 years, researching and translating ancient healing modalities to make them practical, scientific, and contemporary for the modern world. He is the author of 11 books, including Shaman, Healer, Sage: How to Heal Yourself and Others With the Energy Medicine of the Americas.
