The Listening Hand

When what we communicate verbally is not congruent with our body’s story, we receive “truth signals” in the form of tension. If left unresolved, these tensions can become chronic, painful, and debilitating. But by learning compassionate listening, touch, and movement, we can find relief.

In this workshop for mental health professionals and others, we learn Ilana Rubenfeld’s unique Rubenfeld Synergy Method®—a powerful, elegant, holistic system integrating psychotherapy, intuition, and bodywork—to contact and express the emotions contained in our body’s tensions and accelerate the process of positive change.

Ilana Rubenfeld has spent four decades humorously helping people observe and listen to their body’s story. This weekend, through demonstrations and hands-on methods, she teaches us how to practice a variety of mind-body exercises, enact a seven-step change process, create a “self-care toolbox,” and use humor to lift ourself out of stagnant states. As we implement these strategies, we begin to relieve tension and realize emotional well-being.
