Located in the heart of the rain forest, one of the most diverse areas of Costa Rica, Sueño Azul Resort (pronounced swaynyo asool, Spanish for "daydream") is situated in a 2,000-acre private nature reserve at the convergence of the Sardinal and Puerto Viejo Rivers. Each winter we offer a wide selection of health and wellness programs and personal growth retreats in many subjects, such as yoga, art, writing, meditation, relationships, and even Spanish language immersion. In addition to generous meal times and optional evening activities, we also offer plenty of time for you to explore the area on organized excursions, relax by the pool, meet other guests, or take peaceful walks around the grounds.
A two-and-a-half hour drive from San José-much of it through the spectacular Braulio Carrillo National Park-Sueño Azul Resort is easy to reach; if you arrive at the airport and leave on our regularly scheduled Saturday arrival and departure days, free shuttles will pick you up and drop you off.

A weeklong (Saturday through Saturday) health and wellness program or personal growth retreat begins at $1,700 per person. Led by some of the top workshop leaders available, we offer health and wellness programs and personal growth retreats focusing on a variety of topics to enhance the quality of your life. Please note these workshops have either a Standard or Abbreviated Schedule. They are stated as such under the title of each workshop. Standard schedules meet for 22.5 hours. Abbreviated schedules meet for 13.5 hours, giving you more free time to enjoy the surroundings at Sueno Azul. Both Weeklong program fees include:
Rest & Rejuvenation Packages at Sueño Azul Resort *
Our popular R&R package provides you with the opportunity for some much-needed Rest & Rejuvenation. Perhaps you are accompanying a friend or family member, or maybe you just need a break. Either way, enjoy a vacation in the rustic elegance of the Sueño Azul Resort. Meet other guests, eat healthy meals, go on an excursion, get a massage, or take some time for yourself. Each week (Saturday through Saturday) is $1,650 per person and includes:
