Family Week: August 10-15, 2008
Family Week offers kids and parents something rare: a unique balance of time together and time apart so that everyone can have fun, learn, explore, and make new friends. We invite veteran Family Weekers back to continue in the creation of an extended family, and welcome new families to join us.
Program Structure: Workshops and kids camps meet each morning (9 a.m.-noon) and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons (2:30 p.m.-5 p.m.). On Tuesday afternoon, the faculty offer family activities and sampler workshops. In the evenings, everyone comes together for performances and special events.
How to Register: Adults choose one workshop. Kids choose one camp. The Omega children's program is available for children ages 3-5 For parents bringing children under 3, you may register for an R&R retreat. Call Omega to register.
Teens: Teens form an important part of Family Week. Please note that Omega has a 10 p.m. noise curfew and that all children and teens are expected to be with their families after 11 p.m. (Teen camps fill early; we suggest the Omega Teen Camp if Family Week is full.)
Special Guests: David Wilcox and Nance Pettit return as resident bards and practitioners of musical medicine.
If you do not have children: You may still participate in this week, but be advised that almost 200 children are on campus, and Omega services and schedules are geared toward children and their families.
In Memoriam: Our dear friend, Jena Marcovicci, who taught during Family Week for many years, passed away unexpectedly in October 2007. Visit danceoftennis.com for more information. We will honor his life during Family Week 2008.
